Dr. Russell Low & Carolyn Hesse-Low Nursing Scholarship
Are you a Nursing Student at CSUSM School of Nursing with a compelling story, who could use a helping hand? The Dr. Russell Low and Carolyn Hesse-Low Nursing Scholarship fund will award a single $2500 external scholarship for nursing students who meet the following criteria.

The scholarship will be awarded to students enrolled in either the Traditional BSN program or the LVN to BSN program at the CSUSM College of Education, Health and Human Services School of Nursing;

Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 units per semester;

Transcript:
An unofficial CSUSM academic transcript is required, along with a screenshot of your current fall semester class load (if not shown in your CSUSM transcript). NEW transfer students: Transcript(s) must include last year's classes taken as a college student at your previous school if not already noted on your unofficial CSUSM transcript. -
A 2022-2023 FAFSA must be on file with the Financial Aid and Scholarship Office and applicants must have financial needs, as determined by the CSUSM Financial Aid/Scholarship Office.

Students cannot be a recipient of a similar Dr. Russell N. Low and Carolyn Hesse-Low Scholarship from the CSUSM Office of Financial Aid.

Students will be the first in their families to attend four-year college;

The scholarship is not renewable.

Students must meet at least one of the following criteria:

Students who are single parents;

Students who are currently employed;
-
Students who demonstrate a commitment to upholding the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Finalists notified by October / November
Zoom interviews scheduled in November / December
The scholarship award is for the 2023 Spring Semester
